Calvin’s Hope is a nonprofit organization that connects patients battling multiple sclerosis with information, education and encouragement. Calvin’s Hope includes a website and a network of support and resources to help people fight back against MS and improve their lives. Calvin’s Hope advocates for people with MS and serves as a source of comfort and assistance for family members and caregivers who play a vital role in the lives of MS patient
Calvin Kimpson is the founder of Calvin’s Hope. He is a 35-year old Detroiter and a 14-year survivor of MS. Calvin is blessed with a support system that includes his parents, two brothers, three sisters, nieces, nephews and many caring friends. He is thankful, appreciative and determined to help others. Calvin’s ultimate hope is that one day soon there will be a cure for multiple sclerosis, but in the meantime, he has founded Calvin’s Hope to help others cope with this difficult, debilitating disease. Calvin believes there is always a silver lining and is inspired by the feeling that every day is not good, but there is something good in every day. He is dedicated to learning all he can about MS and sharing information on medical treatments and diet, while offering encouragement and an outlet for MS patients to discuss their experiences with one another. Calvin is a fighter and a survivor, who knows the pain, fatigue and mobility issues that come with MS. Still, his motto is to keep going and don’t quit. He is here to wage the battle with you, so you can move forward together with the hope of better days ahead.
